Vacuum Cleaner Reviews
Frustrated by vacuum cleaners that don’t pick up pet hair or leave dirt behind? You’re not alone. At Fizzy Offers, we rigorously test vacuum cleaners to help you find the best models for your home—so you can enjoy spotless floors with less effort.
At Fizzy Offers, we test vacuums in many ways. We look at how well they clean, how tight they seal, and how well they’re made. We also check how easy they are to use and maintain.
According to a recent study by Consumer Reports, vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles. A 2025 survey by Statista found that 68% of households prefer cordless vacuum cleaners for convenience.

Our Vacuum Testing Process
We test vacuums in five key areas. These are:
- Cleaning Performance
- Sealed System
- Build Quality
- Usability
- Maintenance
We also check for noise and size. But these don’t count towards the score.
1. Cleaning Performance
This is our top test, making up 65% of the total score. It includes five tests:
- Debris Test (55% of Cleaning Score): We test on three floor types and four debris types. We see how much is removed.
- Pet Hair Test (25% of Cleaning Score): We use 1.0 grams of dog hair on carpet. We measure how much is removed from the floor and the brushroll.
- Long Hair Test (10% of Cleaning Score): We use 1.0 grams of long hair on carpet. We measure how much is removed from the floor and the brushroll, checking for tangles.
- Edge Test (5% of Cleaning Score): We place debris along a wall. We measure how well the vacuum cleans close to the edge.
- Crevice Test (5% of Cleaning Score): We fill crevices with sugar. We measure how well the vacuum cleans them.
2. Sealed System
This test accounts for 15% of the total score. It checks if the vacuum keeps tiny particles inside. We use a fog machine to test how well the vacuum contains smoke.
3. Build Quality
This subjective test accounts for 5% of the score. We look at the vacuum’s materials and design. We rate the build quality using a 7-tier system.
4. Usability
This category accounts for 10% of the total score. It evaluates four factors:
- Accessories (40% of Usability Score): We test how useful the included accessories are. We see how they affect cleaning.
- Maneuverability (35% of Usability Score): We assess how well the vacuum moves. We look at its weight, turning ability, and how flat it can lay.
- Setup (20% of Usability Score): This subjective test records the time and difficulty of getting the vacuum ready to use.
- Controls & Display (5% of Usability Score): We evaluate how easy the controls and display are to use. We see how they affect cleaning.
5. Maintenance
This test makes up 5% of the total score. It has two parts:
- Recurring Costs (50% of Maintenance Score): An objective test that looks at the yearly cost of parts and service.
- Maintaining Tasks (50% of Maintenance Score): A subjective test that assesses how difficult it is to keep the vacuum in good shape.
Non-Scoring Tests
We also measure the following, but they don’t affect the final score:
Size & Dimensions: We report on the vacuum’s size, weight, dust bin, and cord length. But this is not a scoring factor.
Noise: We use a sound meter to measure the vacuum’s volume. But this is not a scoring factor because noise doesn’t affect cleaning performance.
